Duke's Vineyard was awarded the industry's most prestigious prize when the 2017 Magpie Hill Reserve Riesling was named Australian Wine of the Year by James Halliday in 2019. It was the first time a white wine scored 99 out of 100 points and helped cement the reputation of Western Australia's Great Southern as one of Australia's top regions for Riesling.
With our first beginnings in 1866, Best’s Wines Great Western boasts a historic collection of Australia’s oldest and most significant vineyards. For more than 150 years, we’ve been proudly producing world-class wines in Victoria’s Great Western region.
The vineyard was first planted in 1996, an accord of family and friends.
The original planting consisted of Chardonnay, Roussanne and Pinot Noir on the steeper south facing section of the property. Ensuing years saw a joint venture between Michel Chapoutier, Rick Kinzbrunner and Peter Graham expand plantings to feature Shiraz and Nebbiolo.
From years of intimate experience farming this site, Peter has expanded the early plantings of Chardonnay and Nebbiolo which so successfully express the shallow granitic soil. Gamay will join the lineup in 2022 and Chenin Blanc from 2024.
is a Slovenian-born winemaker with nearly 23 vintages under his belt. Deep love for wine and vineyards has built gradually over the years. And helping grandfather “Deda” in the vineyard since early childhood has been the foundation for everything that followed.
When not in the cellar, he is fulfilling his passion for growing grapes and taking care of long-neglected vineyard in the picturesque Eden Valley. Never-ending curiosity manifested in pioneering Rebula/Ribolla Gialla in the cooler Adelaide Hills region of South Australia where a tiny vineyard produced its first crop in 2023. A homage to homeland where this variety is often righteously referred to as ‘Queen of vineyards’.

Individual, small batch, elegant wines made with passive interventions and meticulous attention to detail.
Dee Vine Estate is a winery established from the traditional family vineyards of Michele and Domenico Scarfone, two brothers who emigrated from Southern Italy in 1956 to settle at Nericon within the Riverina area of Australia.
They planted the first vines on the property the following year, with the vision of producing traditional Italian table wine for the Australian wine drinker. Three generations later, Adrian Bianchini and Fernando Rombola have significantly expanded from their grandfathers original parcel of land, whilst following the same principles; a passion for fine wine and dedication to produce a remarkably distinctive product.
Eisenstone creator and winemaker Stephen Cook secures special parcels of grapes from the ‘western ranges’ of the famous Barossa Valley which are renowned for producing fuller bodied, powerful wines with amazing depth of flavour and exceptional aging ability to make his wines released under the Eisenstone label. Limited volumes of each wine are produced in any given vintage, each individually numbered.
Each vintage is hand-crafted with care using small parcels of premium fruit that are sourced predominantly from Western Barossa sub regions of Greenock and Marananga, as well as from selected growers from Eden Valley, Ebenezer and Tanunda. To represent the true individual characters of the vineyard and varieties, much of the fruit is hand-picked from old vineyards, and the fruit is fermented in small batches on skins in open top fermenters to retain as much fleshy fruit as possible and the use of predominantly older French oak ensures that the fruit is the stand out feature of each wine.
Greg and Allison with their family Sean, Bridget and Jessica moved to the historic 15 acre vineyard in 1995, leaving behind a city life for a new life among the vines. Managing their vineyard with sustainable agricultural practices they make their premium quality wine by concentrating on preserving the complex balance of natural flavours of the grapes.
At Hobbs we have a strong belief in the balance of nature and strive to maintain this balance between nature and agriculture by embracing an organic and bio-dynamic approach to managing our vineyard. We hand-prune each vine and hand-pick the fruit.
Reschke’s close relationship with Coonawarra began in 1906 with the establishment of a prime Hereford stud in the heart of the region. This cattle grazing heritage is reflected in the Reschke bull logo, and the names of the premium Reschke wines: Bos, Vitulus, Bull Trader.
Ulithorne was born in 1950 when Bob Whiting planted the first vines that would go on to produce the finest Ulithorne wines. A commitment to nurturing the individual characters from the vines has cemented Ulithorne as an iconic South Australian wine brand.
Located three hours-drive south-east of Adelaide the Limestone Coast is made up of six unique sub-regions: Coonawarra, Padthaway, Mount Benson, Robe, Wrattonbully and Mount Gambier, each with unique, rich and diverse soils.
The Limestone Coast benefits from readily abundant water and cool evening temperatures even when daytime temperatures soar.
Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay provide the bulk of the region’s harvest, with plantings of Merlot, Pinot Gris and Riesling also gaining in popularity and quality.
Since 1952 Schild hands have tended to a selection of Barossa Valley’s most treasured and rare vines, some amongst the oldest in the world. The wisdom passed down through the generations ensures each vineyard’s unique terroir is expressed in their premium collection of wines.
In the 1840's my forefathers planted vineyards and started making wine adjacent Jacob's Creek in the sub region of Krondorf, Barossa Valley. Our family has owned and farmed vineyards here in every generation since.
The vineyards we now farm are not our original family vineyards but ones we acquired in 2013. Brett Grocke
